Visa Border Run in Phuket

Price: 4000 THB

A bus takes you to Malaysia and back with an official visa stamp. To book a border run, message us 🚌

Phuket B2C arranges a visa border run: a comfortable bus picks you up anywhere in Phuket, takes you to the Malaysian border, where you get an official entry/exit stamp, then brings you back to Phuket. It's a legal, common way to extend your stay in Thailand without a visa agency or queues. It's relevant if you're on a tourist visa or visa exemption and getting close to the end of your permitted stay. Confirm the exact departure time and pickup point with us before the trip.

FAQ

How is a border run different from the green corridor?+

The green corridor is about arrival at the airport (expedited passport control). A border run (borderan) is a separate service: a bus takes you across the border to Malaysia and back for an official visa stamp, to extend your stay in Thailand. They're two unrelated services.

Is this legal?+

Yes, a border run is an official, common way to extend your stay in Thailand: you legally cross the border, get a new entry stamp, and come back. It's not a gray-area workaround, it's standard practice for people living in Thailand on a tourist visa or visa exemption.

How much does a Phuket border run cost and what is included?+

A border run through phuketb2c.com costs a fixed 4,000 THB, the operator's own price with no markup. It covers the bus ride from anywhere in Phuket to the Malaysian border and back on the same day. Visa-exempt entry to Malaysia and the new Thai stamp are free for Russian citizens. Budget separately for food on the road and personal spending; the manager confirms exactly what is included when you book.

How many land visa runs can I do per year?+

Visa-exempt entries into Thailand through land checkpoints are limited to two per calendar year, and the count resets on 1 January. Citizens of Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei are exempt. Arrivals by air do not count toward this cap, but an officer may still refuse entry if your passport shows a long run of visa-exempt stamps. If you have already used both land entries this year, discuss other options with a lawyer.

How many days do I get after a Phuket border run?+

Since 15 September 2026 a Russian citizen gets 30 visa-free days on each new entry, as do citizens of the UK, the US, EU states and Australia. The count starts from the date of the new stamp, and the entry day itself counts as day one. You can extend by another 30 days at the Phuket Town immigration office for 1,900 THB, but for a stamp from a land crossing the decision rests with the officer. Stamps issued before 15 September remain valid for the period shown.

Can I do a Malaysia visa run if my permitted stay has already expired?+

Technically yes: the fine of 500 THB per day, capped at 20,000 THB, is collected at Thai passport control on exit. But the overstay stays on record, and on the way back the officer may ask more questions or refuse entry. An overstay of more than 90 days also brings an entry ban, so in that case talk to a lawyer first. It is safer to travel 3-5 days before your stamp expires.

What documents do I need for a Malaysia visa run?+

A passport valid for at least six more months with two blank pages. No earlier than three days before the trip, fill in two free online forms: MDAC for entering Malaysia and TDAC at tdac.immigration.go.th for returning to Thailand. Keep the QR codes on your phone and on paper. Carry about 20,000 THB in cash or on a card, as a border officer may ask to see your funds.

Which is better: a Ranong border run to Myanmar or a trip to Malaysia?+

Ranong is closer, about 300 km and 5-6 hours, but then comes a boat to Kawthaung, fees on the Myanmar side and dependence on the weather and the situation in Myanmar. Malaysia takes 6-8 hours, but the whole route is by road and Russians need no visa there. Both count toward the limit of two land entries a year. On phuketb2c.com a border run to Malaysia costs 4,000 THB.
