What the green corridor actually is
It's expedited passport control on arrival β you're guided past the main queue to an immigration counter. During high season (roughly November-March), the passport control line at Phuket airport can run an hour or more, especially when several flights land close together.
What it doesn't cover
The service doesn't replace visa requirements β you still need the same entry documents. It also doesn't handle baggage or a customs declaration if you have something to declare β that's a separate step after passport control.
When it's worth it, and when it isn't
It makes sense for a tight connecting flight, a large family group with kids or elderly relatives, or simply during peak high season when the line is predictably long. For a solo traveler with no connection and outside peak hours, the queue may already be short β in that case, it's not worth paying for.
