Songkran is celebrated on 13-15 April, the Laguna Phuket Marathon is held in June, and the Vegetarian Festival falls in late September or October. Lunar holiday dates change every year.

Indoor shows, the cabaret and the FantaSea theater, go ahead in any weather, while outdoor events from May to October are sometimes cancelled because of a downpour or a storm warning. The terms depend on the organizer: a full refund, a move to another date, or a non-refundable ticket. Find them out before paying, and if a cancellation has already happened, message the manager on Telegram or WhatsApp for advice on where to turn.

The center of the island's nightlife is Bangla Road in Patong, a pedestrian street with bars and clubs in the evening. Calmer parties take place at the beach clubs of Kamala and Bang Tao. Alcohol sales are banned on Buddhist holidays, and after a party it is better to take a taxi home than ride a scooter.

Big concerts in Phuket happen less often than in Bangkok: most are sets at beach clubs, hotels and high-season festivals, while live music plays in bars almost every evening. Muay Thai fights at the Patong stadiums run almost daily, usually from 21:00, with 6-8 bouts a night, and a ticket costs roughly 1,500-2,000 THB.
